I fell in love with medicine early. I was born in England, spent three years in Kenya when my mother was a midwife and doctor in the peace corps. After that she was the midwife on a commune in Northern California. I wanted to be able to save lives like her, but also be able to argue and hold an important seat in any room. When I was 16, we moved to Kentucky. I got a scholarship to Centre College and went on to the University of Kentucky Law School. I married a man from Louisa KY and raised our kids there for 10 years. In my heart, Louisa is still home. We moved to Frankfort KY in 2007. Living in the Capitol, surrounded by politics and lawmakers is a dream come true. Loving this life!
